This period is dedicated to preparing for and achieving the summit of Baruntse (7,129m). The expedition follows a carefully planned acclimatization schedule designed to help you adapt safely to the increasing altitude. Acclimatization helps your body to adjust to thin air and high altitude to avoid high altitude sickness. Team members make several rotations between Base Camp and higher camps, carrying equipment, establishing camp infrastructure, and becoming familiar with the route.
During this phase, you will receive guidance on fixed-rope techniques, glacier travel, and high-altitude safety. Higher camps are established strategically on the mountain, allowing gradual progression toward the summit. The climbing route includes snow slopes, ice sections, and exposed ridges that require both endurance and technical skills, which help to improve your mountaineering skills.
Weather conditions play a critical role in determining the summit window. Once favorable conditions arrive, the team launches its summit push. The climb to the summit is challenging but immensely rewarding, offering panoramic views of Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Ama Dablam, Cho Oyu, and countless Himalayan peaks stretching across Nepal and Tibet. Standing at the top of Baruntse is a remarkable achievement and a lifelong memory. During this climbing period, you will learn to work in a team, some mountaineering skills, and boost your confidence. After celebrating the success, climbers descend safely back to Base Camp for rest and recovery.
